April 7, 2008....decorating....and grilling What a weekend! Spring is approaching and our house was buzzing with
springtime clean up! We all were running around to get the house
in order and backyard tidied up so we can sit and enjoy all those summertime
BBQ's!
I spent most of my weekend running back and forth between my favorite
fabric stores and paint stores in Westport, CT on the hunt for the exact fabric
color/texture I want for our valences! Toile, gingham check, gosh there are so
many and don't even get me started with the trim, my head was spinning with
decisions! All in all, I decided on the perfect combination for all the rooms
and
even picked a fabulous paint for the dining room! The house is heading in a
very
country french/italian decor, which makes it extremely cozy and inviting; not
to
mention homey!
After grilling some steaks and eating dinner, I looked out my window and just
can't describe that initial feeling when you realize it's almost 7pm and the
sunlight
is still beaming in the house, the birds are chirping and there is the perfect
amount
of light hitting our rockers on the porch for the most perfect evening of
tea/coffee
or even ice-cream from our neighboring Mr. Frosty's! There isn't anything
better
then long days and warm weather. Even though I love all seasons, the initial
spring
season is an absolute relief after a long winter! So all in all the summertime
bug has officially bit me on the toosh!
I just can't wait to share all my favorite recipes, decorating tid-bits and
travel
tips!
xoxo for now!Back to Articles |
