April 4, 2008...La Vie En Rose Intro and all about me

Hi Everyone!!!

Firstly, I would like thank everyone for all the support and send a
special "thank you" to my boyfriend, Matty! Ok..ok .. I know that
is cheesy, but really I couldn't have done this without his constant support,
constructive criticism, his fantastic advice and continuous ability to make
me smile when I needed it the most!

Most people call me Michele, others well I plead the fifth.. I grew up in
CT and yes, I am still here! In the summers you will occasionally find me
stopping by for a margarita at the infamous staples high school watering hole,
Viva Zapata’s! I can’t believe I just admitted that! I live in Norwalk, CT
with my boyfriend, Matty and our feisty puppy, Maya! All 6 months
and a whopping 70lbs of her! We spend most nights trying to think up a
way to train her to pick up her own poop and yet are reminded of our failure
daily.

I came up with the idea for this business way back in college and had
absolutely no idea it would ever come to life. Yes I can now actually say
I got something out of college aside from the typical college memories
(ahh so politically correct)!

The foundation of this boutique “our charity donations” has been an idea
since I was a child. Many specific events stuck in my brain, and provided
me with the motivation to one day give back and make a difference!

La Vie En Rose is a hobby, as I currently work a completely different
9-5 job! But, no worries I definitely have time for other things in life. I can’t
imagine life passing me by because I am working all the time. I mean a girl
has to get her nails done, right? haha jk. I find this boutique is an outlet, a
way I can tunnel my love for decorating, traveling and helping others all in one!

I hope this boutique will one day set me traveling to even more exotic
places and give me the opportunity to meet even more amazing artists,
people and cultures! I hope I always keep it small, and personable, depicting
that small hometown mom and pops store! I hope it continues to be a hobby
and most of all that it brings a smile to someone’s face, while enhancing their
life in a positive way! I hope people appreciate and learn there is more to
shopping. Each product has a story, a history, and an artist and each purchase
can enhance another person’s life in ways you can’t imagine.

Life has a way of taking you in different directions and I am all about taking
“the road not taken” (Robert Frost) I love listening to my gut and instinct
and hanging on for the ride they take me on!
